Support and resistance: trading the levels everyone can see

Markets remember prices. Learn to mark the zones where supply and demand actually flipped — and how to trade the retest instead of the breakout.

01

Zones, not lines

Support is where buying has repeatedly absorbed selling; resistance is the opposite. The classic beginner mistake is drawing them as hairline prices. Institutions accumulate across a range, so levels behave as zones a few ticks deep — mark the area, not the pixel.

02

Role reversal — the flip

The most tradeable behavior a level has: broken resistance becomes support, broken support becomes resistance. Old sellers who watched price run away place bids where they used to offer; trapped buyers sell the return to their entry. That crowd behavior is why the retest works.

  • Trade the retest, not the breakout candle — let the flip prove itself.
  • The more touches a level has, the more visible it is — and the more decisive the eventual break.
  • Round numbers (1.1000, $100, $50,000) act as psychological levels with no chart history required.
03

Static levels + dynamic lines

Confluence is the multiplier: a horizontal support zone that also hosts the rising 50-EMA and a 61.8% Fibonacci retracement is three independent reasons for orders to cluster in one place. Single signals are guesses; stacked signals are setups.
